Wat betekent ALUD?
ALUD is a word from Spanish language, which translates as Avalanche, but also, when said out loud, it's pronounced the same as ''to alude'', to imply. These two meanings are ever present and intertwined in our work; we always want to bring to the stage a lof of energy, filling the space in unexpected turns and forms, ever growing from the movements before. However, we also want that in that unpredictability, you can still feel something, see something, think something, that is concrete. Maybe not developed in a linear way, but rather, as you gain new insights in what you already knew.
This is one of our artistic goals, that began in 2022 with a long research into aerial straps from the perspective of dance, theatre and partner acrobatics. And now, together with different partners and other supporters, We are bringing the results of our work.
Missie
Wij zijn Company ALUD en we geloven dat er behoefte is aan een rijkere vorm van luchtcircus, die zowel technisch sterk is als creatiever en concreter in dramaturgie en algemene artistieke taal. Hier werken we aan door een nieuwe bewegings-taal te ontwikkelen, die leert van verschillende circusspecialiteiten én van dans en theater.
Visie
Wij, Company ALUD, streven er niet naar de wereld te veranderen. Met een gegrond maar speels perspectief willen we wel percepties veranderen.
Over sociale thema’s, over wat mogelijk is met circus als kunstvorm,
en over de mogelijkheden om dans en theater te integreren in het luchtcircus.
