Hello Hello!
I'm Dani! I'm passionate of art, the world and their people, so let's get to know each other!
Life for me is about exploring the beautiful, complex and unexpected of this world and the people in it. And circus is specially full of that, on the stage as much as while teaching and creating. Curiosity is a drive that helps me weave together separate pieces of knowledge, into new ideas. And I have a practical fascination for the different ways each art form talks to the audience, and how all these ways can be translated into the circus.
As you might have guessed, I'm often described as curious, ready to go the extra mile to see something interesting. The secret contradiction here, is that when not all over the place, you will find me home, reading and caring for a lot, lot of different plants.
See you around!
My Story
Daniel (28, He/Him) was born in Santander, in the north of Spain, and began teaching himself circus at the age of 19 years old. In 2017 he moved to Tilburg, Netherlands, to enrol at ACAPA and continue his path to become an artist. in 2019 he moved to Brussels, to begin his studies at ÉSAC and finally graduating there in July 2022 with aerial straps. But before circus, he had been training parkour and various sea-sports, and specially Tae-Kwondo and Archery to a high level, as well as learning piano, guitar and drums. From the insights of those different skills, came an interest for how separate disciplines can interrelate. And soon after beginning his circus training he also began to research aerial straps from the perspective of dance, acrobatics and music.
After graduation, he decided to create his own work and interdisciplinary research, and was very happy to find an interested partner in Seraphim Richter. Together they founded Company ALUD, under which they have developed a new aerial style and language, inspired by theatre, partner acrobatics, and dance, among other disciplines, and which showcased in multiple productions.
